Bio 

Fields of interest

Andrea Ferrero joined the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in June 2006. He is currently an Economist in the Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function of the Research and Statistics Group. Mr. Ferrero is a macroeconomist, with particular interests in the open economy dimension of monetary and fiscal policy. His current research studies the determinants of external imbalances and their implications for monetary policy. He has also written on optimal fiscal and monetary stabilizations in a currency union. Mr. Ferrero holds a Ph.D. from New York University and a M.Sc. from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
